The pursuit of greater productivity in the field involves a continuous process of learning, evaluating results, and adapting management practices to the conditions of each harvest. The combination of experience, experimentation, and the use of technologies has allowed producers to test strategies, correct decisions, and improve crop performance throughout the production cycles.
In Palmas, in southern Paraná, Ricardo Bordin has been following this process for about 16 years. An agricultural engineer, soybean and corn producer, and beef cattle rancher, he manages 700 hectares dedicated to planting and participates directly in the decisions of the family farm. Throughout this period, testing has become part of the routine, including experiments that did not yield the expected results.
Weather conditions are among the main factors considered in planning. According to the producer, each harvest allows them to observe what worked and identify necessary adjustments. In one cycle, soybean productivity increased from 107.84 to 118.69 sacks per hectare, a result associated with the consolidation of strategies that had already been analyzed.
The property maintains a partnership with Brandt Brasil and has gradually incorporated technological solutions. Among them are Brandt Plant Start, used in strategies related to plant development and nutrient utilization, and Brandt Smart Quatro Plus, employed in foliar nutrition practices.
The progress was also evident in the National Maximum Soybean Productivity Challenge, promoted by the Brazilian Soybean Strategic Committee. In one harvest, the property went from 100th to 48th place nationally and from 37th to 19th place in the state. According to Brandt Brasil, which has been supporting the producer for the second consecutive year in the Brandt Recordistas program, the results reflect planning, constant evaluation, and the gradual incorporation of new tools into management.
