Cyclone moves away, but cold front still brings rain and thunderstorms.

The influence of an extratropical cyclone over Brazil is expected to weaken between Wednesday (02) and Thursday (03), with the system moving away from the coast towards the Atlantic Ocean. According to data released by the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET), the arrival of cold and dry air should reduce temperatures in the South and Southeast and in parts of the Midwest, while the associated cold front still causes rain in areas of the Southeast and the south of the Northeast. With the advance of a high-pressure system through the south-central part of the country, cloud cover should gradually decrease. The change favors a drop in temperatures and maintains the possibility of frost in the higher areas of the Southern Region.

On Wednesday (02), the cold front will still cause showers and thunderstorms mainly between eastern Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo and the extreme south of Bahia. There is also a forecast of isolated showers in the Central-West.

In the Northern Region, according to data released by INMET, Wednesday will see isolated showers and thunderstorms in western and northern Amazonas and in west-central Acre. Isolated showers are also expected in Rondônia, Roraima, Amapá, and areas of Pará.

In Tocantins, rainfall will be more limited. There is no precipitation forecast for the eastern part of the state, although Palmas may experience isolated showers after several days of dry weather. Despite the instability, the heat remains intense. Among the capital cities, the minimum temperature will be 23°C in Rio Branco (AC), while Palmas (TO) may reach a maximum of 39°C.

On Thursday (03), the instability begins to lose strength in the North. Isolated showers may still occur in Amazonas and Roraima, in addition to isolated rain on the coast and south-central Pará and in Tocantins. The remaining areas should have many clouds, but no rain is expected. Palmas may reach 38 °C, while Rio Branco will have a minimum of 23 °C.

In the Northeast, Wednesday begins with few clouds across most of the region. There is a possibility of isolated rain in the morning on the northern coast of Alagoas, the coast of Pernambuco and Paraíba, the eastern coast of Rio Grande do Norte, and the extreme south of Bahia.

During the afternoon, instability increases in southern Bahia, with conditions favorable for showers and isolated thunderstorms. There is also a possibility of rain along the border between Bahia and Minas Gerais and Goiás.

Maranhão will experience isolated showers in the west and northwest, while other areas of the state may register isolated rain. In contrast, much of Ceará, eastern Piauí, northern Bahia, and western Alagoas, Pernambuco, Paraíba, and Rio Grande do Norte will have sunshine and few clouds. The heat remains intense in the interior of the Northeast. According to data released by INMET, Teresina (PI) could reach 40 °C on Wednesday.

On Thursday, showers will continue in southern Bahia. There is also a possibility of isolated rain in the central-west and coastal areas of Bahia, Sergipe, Alagoas, and the coastal strip of Pernambuco and Paraíba.

The heat intensifies in parts of the interior. Teresina could reach 41°C, while Fortaleza (CE) will have temperatures between 26°C and 32°C. The lowest temperature among the capitals will be 21°C in Maceió (AL).

In the Central-West region, areas of instability will cause isolated showers in Mato Grosso on Wednesday. There is also a possibility of rain in Goiás and the Federal District. In northern Mato Grosso do Sul, the sky will be mostly cloudy. In other areas of the state, the forecast indicates little cloud cover and milder temperatures, with a minimum of 15 °C in Campo Grande (MS).

Cuiabá (MT) will have a high of 35°C. On Thursday, the region will have many clouds, with the possibility of isolated rain in the north and east of Mato Grosso, north-central Goiás and the Federal District. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the east-central region will have sun and few clouds, including Campo Grande. In Cuiabá, there will be many clouds, but no rain is expected.

The heat continues in the Midwest. According to data released by INMET, Cuiabá could reach 38°C on Thursday, while Campo Grande and Brasília could reach 32°C.

In the Southeast, areas of instability will be concentrated on Wednesday between northeastern Minas Gerais and north-central Espírito Santo. In these areas, showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening.

There is also a forecast of showers in Rio de Janeiro and a possibility of isolated rain in other areas of Minas Gerais. In the interior of São Paulo, the weather remains sunny with few clouds. Temperatures will decrease in the region. São Paulo will have a minimum of 12 °C and a maximum of 18 °C, while Belo Horizonte may register a maximum of 27 °C.

On Thursday, the instability weakens, but there is still a possibility of isolated rain in central and northern Minas Gerais, northern Rio de Janeiro, and Espírito Santo. There is also a forecast for the formation of mist in eastern São Paulo, eastern Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro. In the interior of São Paulo state, the day will have few clouds.

The morning will be even colder. São Paulo will have a low of 9°C and Belo Horizonte, 12°C. During the afternoon, temperatures will rise, with highs of 27°C in Rio de Janeiro, 26°C in Belo Horizonte, and 25°C in Vitória and São Paulo.

In the Southern Region, Wednesday will be marked by sunshine, stable weather, and few clouds. According to data released by INMET, there is a possibility of frost in the highest points of the mountain ranges of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. Fog is also forecast for the morning in eastern Paraná and Santa Catarina. Afterwards, the sun should appear in these areas.

Among the capital cities, Curitiba will have a high of 19°C, while Florianópolis and Porto Alegre will not exceed 18°C. The low will be 6°C in Curitiba. On Thursday, the cold weather continues and there is a possibility of frost in southern Paraná, central and mountainous regions of Santa Catarina, and the Serra Gaúcha. In these areas, the weather remains stable with few clouds. In eastern Paraná, including Curitiba, there may be formation of mist.

In the far south of Rio Grande do Sul, new areas of instability are causing isolated showers, mainly in the southeastern region of the state. There is also a possibility of isolated rain along the border with Uruguay. Porto Alegre will have a low of 9°C in the morning, but the temperature will rise to 26°C in the afternoon. Curitiba will have a low of 6°C. The change in atmospheric patterns keeps attention focused on the combination of rain, cold, and frost in the South, while the heat remains intense in areas of the North, Northeast, and Central-West.
