US-China trade war could boost Brazilian soybean exports

The trade war being promoted by US President Donald Trump is expected to reduce US soybean exports and favor foreign sales of Brazilian grain. The consultant Étore Baroni, from the company Stonex, believes, however, that this movement should not result in a more expressive appreciation of soybeans in Brazil.

He argues that the increase in the supply of soybeans on the North American market should pull down the prices of the grain on the Chicago Stock Exchange. Baroni spoke on April 22 to 180 leaders of C.Vale at Asfuca in Palotina (PR). The event was attended by the cooperative's CEO, Edio Schreiner, and the director-secretary Walter Dal'Boit.

Baroni projects a slight appreciation of soybeans in the Brazilian domestic market throughout the second half of 2025.
