Pig herd grows and exports hit record high in Brazil.

A total of 43.9 million pigs were counted in this edition of the survey. On the last day of 2024, there were 1.8% more animals in the country compared to the previous year.

Toledo (Paraná) maintained its leading position in municipal pig farming, among the 5,487 municipalities that registered some pig farming, with 2.2% of the national total, or 950,000 animals. Uberlândia (Minas Gerais) appears next, with 1.4% of the national total, or 623,900 animals, followed by Marechal Cândido Rondon (Paraná), with 1.3% or 576,000 pigs.
