Soybean production in Goiás reached an unprecedented level in the 2024/2025 harvest, with the best result ever recorded by the state. According to data from the 11th Survey of the National Supply Company (CONAB), Goiás is estimated to have produced a record 20.4 million tons of soybeans, an increase of 21.4% compared to the previous cycle.
According to the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (Seapa), this increase is the result of a combination of expanded planted area and, primarily, a jump in average productivity. The area cultivated with oilseeds increased to 4.9 million hectares, an increase of 2.5% compared to the 2023/24 crop year. Productivity increased by 18.4%, reaching a historic high of 4.1 tons per hectare.
With this performance, Goiás consolidates its position as the national leader in productivity and the third-largest soybean producer in the country. "This historic result reinforces the collaborative work between producers, researchers, technicians, and effective public policies. With the support of the Government of Goiás, rural producers continue to ensure productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability in the field," emphasizes Pedro Leonardo Rezende, head of Seapa.
