PT_BR The planting of the 2025/2026 soybean crop in Mato Grosso do Sul has reached 30.91 TP4T of the total estimated area, according to a survey by the SIGA/MS Project, carried out by Aprosoja/MS. The area sown up to October 17th corresponds to approximately 1.4 million hectares.
The southern region leads in planting, with 40.3% of the sown area, followed by the central region (17.7%) and the northern region (13.3%). The pace is slightly below that recorded in the same period of the last crop (2024/2025), but higher by 10% when compared to the average of the last 5 years. This is mainly due to the good volume of rainfall in the southern region, which holds the largest cultivated area in the State.
“The weather patterns in the coming weeks will be crucial for the progress of planting, especially in the central and northern regions, where soil moisture is still limited. Producers have adopted strategies such as staggering planting to reduce risks in the face of meteorological uncertainties,” explains Flávio Faedo Aguena, technical advisor at Aprosoja/MS.
For this harvest, the expectation is for a growth of 5.91 TP4T in the cultivated area, totaling 4.79 million hectares. The average productivity forecast is 52.8 sacks per hectare, with an estimated production of 15.2 million tons.
Technical monitoring by Aprosoja/MS also indicates a low incidence of weeds and pests in the crops monitored so far. "The areas are in early phenological stages, between VE and V3, and show good phytosanitary conditions," adds Flávio.
According to the climate forecast, the state should face irregular rainfall distribution in the coming months, possibly influenced by the La Niña phenomenon, which is still of weak to moderate intensity.
